Agent expects Athletic Bilbao to hand Amorebieta new deal

Athletic defender Fernando Amorebieta is set to be handed a new contract.

The Bilbao board has decided to improve Amorebieta's terms after they rejected a €12 million offer from Rubin Kazan for the defender over the summer.

"For the club, he is a very important player, they have rejected a bid for him and, somehow, Athletic feel obliged to do something with his contract, but nothing as yet," said the player's agent, Gines Carvajal.
