Papiss Cisse's former agent denies touting the Newcastle United striker for a move away last week.

Agent Nickolay Guido was quoted as saying a number of Russian clubs were keen on­ Cisse, who cost Toon £9.5m from Freiburg ­18 months ago.

But Guido said: "I do not know where the Russian quotes have come from.

"I have not been his agent since last May."
