Agent denies special mask plans for Chelsea's Cech

The agent of Petr Cech has denied claims the Chelsea goalkeeper will have to wear a mask if he wants to make a quick playing return.

The Czech Republic keeper's latest injury saw him suffer severe facial lacerations - which needed 50 stitches - after he clashed accidentally with team-mate Tal Ben Haim in training.

And it was reported Cech would wear a special face mask in order to play again this term - but that has been denied by one of his agents.

Indeed, David Travnicek suggests Cech will need little more than a heavy-duty plaster.

"We need something that will fix Petr's wound so that it won't get banged again," Travnicek told Sport.

"He does not need any cover. A good plaster will protect the wound well enough."
