Agent confident Mignolet will soon complete Sunderland move

The agent of Sint-Truiden goalkeeper Simon Mignolet says a move to Sunderland is almost closed.

Mignolet's agent Guy Vandersmissen told The Journal that the St Truiden keeper has made a firm personal decision to join Sunderland. The Wearsiders are yet to agree a fee with St Truiden for the promising young goalkeeper, but Vandersmissen insisted that talks between the two parties have been progressing well.

"The deal is not yet finished but we are nearly there and if it happens it will be a dream come true for Simon," Vandersmissen explained.

"He saw the facilities at the weekend, and met with Nigel Spink and Steve Bruce, and he just had a good feeling about Sunderland.

"There will be more discussions next week, but the two clubs are not far away from agreeing a transfer fee, they are more or less there now.

"It is not yet complete, but I expect that everything will be okay."
