The agent of Adriano is confident the striker will resume his career with Inter Milan. There is fresh speculation in Rio that Adriano intends to announce his retirement after refusing to fly back to Milan this week.

The player's agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, said: "If it is up to me, he will continue with Inter."

Meanwhile, fellow Brazilian Maxwell said: "We're waiting for him at Inter with open arms."
