Italian agent Beppe Bozzo has confirmed AC Milan made a formal move to sign Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata last summer.
The Italian Football Federation published a report listing the year's fees paid to agents by local clubs - with Bozzo's name appearing as a Milan representative in talks with Real Madrid for Morata.
Bozzo explained his role this morning: "What the federation has published was a commission, duly registered, for the purpose of negotiating on behalf of Milan with Real Madrid, which later did not materialise.
"It is a requirement to be able to negotiate legitimately. The mandate was ineffective from the moment in which the operation did not materialise. Milan had all the intention (to sign Morata)."
