The agent of Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff says AC Milan pushed hard to bring the Frenchman back to the San Siro this season.
The 23-year-old was on loan at Bordeaux last season albeit with a clause inserted into the deal that allowed the French club to sign him for around £13m in the summer.
"Milan focused everything on money when they tried to convince him [to return], but Yoann chose to consolidate his performances with Bordeaux. Money is not a priority," his agent Didier Poulmaire told Le Quotidien du Foot.
To reiterate his point, Poulmaire told an anecdote revealing how Gourcuff turned down 500,000 to promote a perfume.
"In December 2008, Yoann said 'no' to a company that offered him 500,000 to do a commercial. First Yoann wants to consolidate his career.
"He has important challenges ahead of him and a lot of pressure to face, and he wants to remain focused on football."
