The representatives of Bolton Wanderers winger Lee Chung-Yong has rubbished claims that he is set to depart for Liverpool.
South Korean newspaper The Dong-a Ilbo reported that Lee's management, TI Sports, says a proposed move to Anfield is not on the cards as the Reds try to cash in on the prospect of signing a promising Asian player.
"I never received the offer from Liverpool, there was absolutely no contact. Speculation about the future is not helpful," a TI Sports spokesman told reporters.
"[The link is] in a word, absurd. Liverpool did not have any discussion.
"Next season will be a lot easier [for Lee], but there is still much to learn in terms of player development.
"Lee wants to be a regular at Bolton next season, this is important [for him]. It is important that Bolton stay in the Premier League, that is the biggest objective."
Lee has impressed since joining the Trotters for £2.2million in the European summer, netting five goals and setting up several others along the way as it emerges that the club are keen to tie him up to a new deal.
