The agent of Napoli captain Paolo Cannavaro is bemused by his latest Italy snub.

Despite the absence of Juventus' Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna of Torino, the Naples-based stopper was not selected.

"I'm struggling to understand why Sampdoria's Daniele Gastaldello is in the squad and not Paolo," Gaetano Fedele told Radio CRC.

"Paolo is demonstrating that he is a player worthy of the national squad, that is without a shadow of a doubt.

"Personal problems with Prandelli? Absolutely not and the CT has worked with him in the past at club level."
