Italian super agent Enzo Bronzetti is convinced Inter Milan will fail in their pursuit of Roma defender Cristian Chivu.

"Chivu would prefer Barcelona," said Bronzetti to Centro Suono Sport. "I don't believe Inter are favoured in the race to sign the player, the Blaugrana came to Roma to negotiate with the player and Roma officials are aware of this.

"Conversations are underway and the Spanish management is waiting to finalise the last details with the player's agents," added the transfer guru, who is acting as mediator in the operation.

"I believe there will be some news tonight. An agreement between Roma and Barcelona isn't impossible, the parties are not to distant."

Bronzetti, who acts as Real Madrid's Italian agent, added: "I believe Chivu will join Barcelona, the only thing that still needs to be decided is the fee. The Blaugrana have offered Ludovic Giuly, Silvinho or Juliano Belletti, we need to understand if Luciano Spalletti is interested in one of the three.

"I have also heard reports suggesting that Gianluca Zambrotta might be part of the deal, but he is untransferable just as Daniele De Rossi is for Roma.

"I am sure Rosella Sensi would cut off her hand before selling her precious midfielder."
