Agent attempting to get Juventus icon Pirlo to A-League ahead of MLS

A leading Australian football agent is attempting to bring Italian legend Andrea Pirlo to the A-League.

The 36-year old midfielder has a year to run on his deal with Serie A champions Juventus but is being heavily linked with a possible off-season exit.

MLS expansion franchise New York City FC has been heavily touted as a possible destination but Lou Sticca, who brought Alessandro Del Piero to Sydney FC, is hoping he can lure down Pirlo under.

"My project here in Italy is clear," Sticca told TuttoMercatoWeb.

"If Andrea decides to leave Italy for other markets and other leagues - and I will move only in this case - I feel it is my duty to plant the seed to get him to Australia.

"Everyone knows that New York is an option. But I'm here to put Australia forward for consideration. What gives me hope is that he was in Australia with Juventus in 2014 and has already seen the nation.

"Del Piero, for Australian football, was the biggest. Andrea could be bigger still."
