The agent of new AS Roma signing Fabio Borini admits Swansea City tried to re-sign the former Chelsea striker.
Borini moved from Parma to Roma yesterday having helped Swansea win promotion.
"Swansea did make contact and Brendan Rodgers called me to ask me the situation with Fabio, but I had to tell him we were already with Roma and the deal was done," his agent Marco de Marchi said.
"I felt very sad because Brendan did a lot for Fabio, but we have to look forward and we will wish Swansea City a very good season in the Premier League."
