Tottenham are being priced out of a deal for Atletico Mineiro midfielder Bernard.
The London Evening Standard says Spurs sent a scout to monitor the progress of the 20-year-old last month, who has received five caps for the Brazilian national team.
"The negotiations with Dortmund and Tottenham have cooled due to Bernard's high asking price and he won't go to any of these clubs," said the player's agent, Adriano Spadoto.
Atletico Mineiro are reportedly asking for 20million (£17m) for Bernard, a figure which has halted the advances of a number of interested parties.
