AS Roma have trumped Fulham for Olympiakos defender Vasilis Torosidis.

The Greece international's agent admits they were close to signing for the Cottagers before Roma moved in.

"It's true, we were about to sign a contract with Fulham when the better offer came in from Roma right at the last minute," agent George Kazianis told Calciomercato.it.
