The agent of Lazio defender Modibo Diakite has confirmed the interest of Catania.

Diakite would welcome a move next month in order to get regular first team football.

Ulisse Savini, the Frenchman's agent, said: "It is true, Diakite is wanted by Catania, who has asked Lazio to take him on loan. The boy would not mind a transfer to the Rossazzurra to play maybe with continuity, but I know that the Biancocelesti president, Claudio Lotito, does not want to give him up."
