The agent of Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has admitted Inter Milan are keen on the Italy international.
Marchisio has caused controversy by admitting frustration with the lack of progress over new contract talks on his Facebook page.
"What he wrote on Facebook was a response to a question asked by friends, certainly not a declaration of divorce from Juventus," representative Carlo Pallavicino told Radio Radio.
"Both Gigi Del Neri and Beppe Marotta have said he is not for sale and the Coach wants to make him the new captain.
"However, it should also be said that the interest on behalf of Inter is real. Marco Branca called Marotta and during the conversation over Nicolas Burdisso he asked about Marchisio, who as I said was not for sale.
"Benitez really likes Claudio and pin-pointed him as the alternative to Javier Mascherano in midfield."
