Revien Kanhai confirmed to NUsport that manager Jose Mourinho wants to keep Ake involved in preseason to "take a closer look at him" before deciding whether to release him for loan.

"The talk about Vitesse Arnhem was an urban legend," continued Kanhai.

"Clubs like Fulham, Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic have been informed. But for now nothing has been settled. And if he is loaned, it will be only to a club whose trainer ensures that he is going to play.''
