Italian super agent Enzo Bronzetti admits AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi was ready to ditch his pursuit of Ronaldinho in favour of signing Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
A day after Ronie's heroics in the Milan derby, Bronzetti revealed: "I knew that Berlusconi always liked Ronaldinho, but there was that one famous night when he and (Adriano) Galliani decided to go for the centre-forward Adebayor.
"They told me to call Ronaldinho's agent and tell him that he was free to talk to other clubs. At that point I found myself in kind of double somersault, especially as we were in July and there was still 60 days left of the market.
"In the end, I called him (Roberto de Assis) because there was a story about Berlusconi choosing Adebayor over Ronaldinho. But I told him that Berlusconi was still interested, just that he had to 'keep the price low'.
"In the end, all's well that ends well."
