Gabby Agbonlahor says Aston Villa would struggle to recover if Martin O'Neill was to leave for the England job.
"The FA are looking for a really good manager to take the job and Martin is one of the best in the business," he said. "But you can also see how much the fans and players have taken to him here.
"It would be very upsetting if he left - that's why it was so good hearing the gaffer say he would turn down England if they asked him."
O'Neill's man-management skills are inspiring a push for Europe and Villa almost snatched a point against Arsenal with a spirited second-half fightback.
"He gives us confidence before games and seems to get the best out of us," added Agbonlahor. "The gaffer told us at half-time to have belief and that's what we tried to do and I think Arsenal were very scared of us."
