Gabby Agbonlahor was delighted with his hat-trick for Aston Villa in yesterday's victory over Manchester City.

Agbonlahor said: "To score three goals in the opening game, I couldn't have asked for a better start to the season.

"We had loads of chances to score in the first-half - Gareth had a few and others players had a few - so we knew the goals would come and they did in the second-half.

"My partnership with John Carew is a good partnership but it's thanks to the midfielders as well. If it wasn't for them today we wouldn't have scored four. So credit to them."
