Arsenal still want to bring in a new technical director, despite the arrival of Borussia Dortmund chief scout Sven Mislintat.

It was confirmed last night that Mislintat would be joining Arsenal.

The Mirror says it is understood that Arsenal still want to bring in another senior figure to tie up recruitment, scouting and contracts but it will not be Dortmund's highly-rated Michael Zorc. It is likely to be a sporting director role but the title has yet to be confirmed.

Dortmund director Sascha Fligge said: “We would liked to have kept him (Mislintat). He has been doing great scouting work with Zorc over the last ten years. He helped and improved scouting at the club, made it more professional.

“We have a very good relationship with him and because of what he achieved, we decided this morning that we would release him."

On Zorc, Fligge added: "Those are just rumours, he is not leaving."
