Afobe admits he'd be heartbroken if Wolves move failed

Benik Afobe has revealed a failed return to Wolves from Bournemouth last month would have left him 'heartbroken'.

The striker rejoined the Championship leaders from the Cherries and almost missed the deadline by 10 minutes.

And just last week he was left 'crying in the car' at the delight of being told that the deal was going ahead.

He said: "I watched the game when they beat Birmingham 1-0, I wasn't watching it thinking I'd be going back to Wolves, I was in the car- on the passenger seat- on my phone. It just goes to show how much I love this club. I was that sure I was coming back I made a video of clips of me scoring Wolves goals to put on Instagram a week before deadline day.

"In my head I know it's probably not good because you can never be sure and things change, but I was that confident of coming back. To neatly miss the deadline by 10 minutes was going to be heartbreaking. My mum and dad were saying to me 'things happen in life, you're still contracted at a Premier League club, you can work your way into the Bournemouth team".
