Australian national team star Harry Kewell has already signed for Melbourne Victory according to well-known sports figure Eddie McGuire. McGuire, who is the president of Australian rules football club Collingwood FC as well as a TV and radio broadcaster, let it slip on Triple M that Kewell was set to be presented with a Victory shirt when the A-League club meets Scottish giants Celtic in an international friendly at AAMI Park on July 13.
The former Liverpool, Leeds United and Galatasaray winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Victory in recent weeks and these comments from McGuire suggest that a deal is highly likely.
But the club's managing director, Richard Wilson, told SEN that nothing had been agreed yet.
"There's nothing in writing that I can confirm today," he said.
