Continental has struck a deal with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to become a sponsor of the AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The German tyre maker will serve as the exclusive tyre partner and as an official sponsor of the event, which will be held from 9th to 31st January in 2015.
The AFC deal expands Continental's long-standing support of global soccer, which has included sponsorship of the Fifa World Cup, the Uefa Champions League and the Uefa European Championships over the years, as well as a recent deal with Major League Soccer (MLS) in the US.
