Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat admits they already face a relegation battle.
Eight players have arrived at the Stadium of Light this summer – including £8million forwards Fabio Borini and Jeremain Lens - but Advocaat, it seems, is still not happy.
When asked if the squad was good enough to avoid the drop, he cut back: "What do you think? Let us put it this way - I think we have to concentrate (to avoid) relegation. Our first priority is to avoid relegation.
"It has nothing to do with my ambition - let us make it quite clear. What we have done is improve the squad. That is the most important thing."
