Adu reveals he wants Benfica future
American international Freddy Adu has revealed he wants his playing future to be with Benfica.
The 20-year old has been with the Portuguese club since summer 2007 but has struggled in Europe and was sent out on loan to French club Monaco last season where he spent a lot of time as a substitute.
It is understood that Adu is not part of Benfica boss Jorge Jesus’ plans but according to the midfielder’s Twitter page, he is keen to remain in Lisbon.
“training with benfica tomorrow. Im excited and cant wait to start training. Im not 100% if im staying or not. I want to but u never know,” Adu wrote.
Adu has been linked with another loan move this season, but this time somewhere in Holland.
