Adu makes debut for Belenenses
US forward Freddy Adu made his debut for Portuguese club Belenenses in the league cup midweek.
The 20-year old, who is on loan from Benfica, was subbed on in the 64th minute but was unable to influence his team to a win as they went down 1-0 to Rio Ave in the Group E clash.
Adu performed well on the left of midfield, creating chances for teammates and showing Belenenses manager Joao Carlos Pereira what he is capable of.
Belenenses take on Nacional in the league this weekend and Adu will be hoping his performance during the week will be enough to get him more game time.

It is good to see that Freddy got time on the pitch. Hopefully this will workout for him. I can understand the manager wants to make sure the Freddy has good match fitness. If he plays well to his abilities he will see alot of time for them. Good Luck KID>
Wonderful news indeed. Hopefully Freddy has found a great coach who is committed to bringing out his best on the field. The US most definitely need his unique set of skillful and fearless attack at midfield. Keep it up kid.
