Adriano is confident of having a big season at Inter Milan.

"There's still a lot of work to do for me to get to 100 per cent," he said. "But I'm happy because I'm getting my speed back and the side played well."

Nonetheless, the 25-year-old is aware that he needs to prove himself after finding the net just five times in the 2006-07 campaign, and may face a battle for a starting place.

"I'm hoping to be the regular first choice even if it will be hard," he insisted. "I will give my all, but I can't be sure that I will succeed.

"My life has always been a struggle and I'm used to fighting. This season is very important to me and I'm working with the right frame of mind."
