Nigel Adkins left his players a short message after being sacked by Southampton.

The 47-year-old, who was ditched as Saints boss for Mauricio Pochettino, left a heart-warming message at the club training ground for his former charges.

The message was later posted on Twitter.

It read: "Keep smiling, have faith and belief that you are doing the right thing. Keep looking to improve."
