adidas unveils ‘Speedcell’ ball for Women’s World Cup

Overnight adidas & FIFA unveiled the adidas Speedcell – the official match ball of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in Germany.

The ball was presented for the first time during the Official Final Draw ceremony in Frankfurt.

‘SPEEDCELL’ stands for speed, power and team spirit. The central design elements of the ball, alongside the fresh colours, are the eleven lines which symbolically represent the eleven players and depict the unity of every football team. The design is inspired by the rotating, fast and dynamic movements in football.

I disagree.

I've owned several of adidas' football releases throughout the years and can say that by far - without comparison, they the best in terms of quality.

I take my adidas' footballs everywhere I go and play and end up using them. Result? Absolute praise from everyone.

People always remark on the feel of the ball and how its movement is "good."

Never have I received a complaint from anyone.

The professionals that complained are typically sponsored by competing brands. Why didn't they complain prior to the last tournament? Most complaints took place during the tournament and for teams/players that did not get the results they had wanted.

adidas is typical in engineering quality and class products unlike other brands. There's a reason the brand has been around for nearly a century.

Adidas balls are the absolute worst. They are like playing with a rubber playground ball. I'd sooner play with a discount, butyl bladder football from China that sells for five quid than one of these laughable Adidas balls they make today. It is a pity for the professionals who are forced to use these balls, on the playgrounds nobody wants to play with one of these Adidas sh1t balls. They're rubbish. What balls are better? As said, pretty much all of them, but for premium footballs Mitre, Nike, Select all make match balls that are worlds better than anything Adidas has offered in at least the past decade. One amusing thing is that Adidas used to be a top football maker, who is running the company over there? They turned a four star restaurant into an outdoors pig slop.
