Adidas have ripped up their deal with sacked Sunderland winger Adam Johnson.
The Daily Mail says Adidas have terminated their boot sponsorship of Sunderland winger Johnson after he pleaded guilty to child sex offences this week.
The sports manufacturer released a statement just 24 hours after Johnson admitted grooming a 15-year-old schoolgirl and kissing and touching her. His trial at Bradford Crown Court on two further counts of sexual activity begins on Friday.
Johnson's boot deal with adidas is worth £10,000-a-season, and the statement read: "Adidas can confirm that it has terminated its contract with footballer Adam Johnson with immediate effect.
"This follows his guilty pleas entered earlier this week."
