Adelaide United are chasing Melbourne Victory's Costa Rica international midfielder Carlos Hernandez. Hernandez is on loan from Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and all of his post-contract dealings must be done through his Costa Rican club.

Adelaide football director Michael Petrillo told The Advertiser: "We know he's out of contract and we've talked about him.

"But we haven't talked to the player at all."

Hernandez could arrive as a replacement for Diego, who is a target for South Korea's Pohang Steelers.
