Adelaide United captain Travis Dodd will be free to take on North Queensland Fury this Friday night after having his red card from the weekend deleted from the records. Dodd was handed a straight red in the final minutes of his side's dramatic 2-1 loss to Wellington Phoenix in Christchurch.
The decision by referee Peter O'Leary was one that would have confused a lot of onlookers as Dodd appeared to fall over innocuously after tangling with Phoenix's Vince Lia in the centre of the pitch.
It was the first time Dodd had been given his marching orders in 124 A-League matches but the one-match suspension will not stand after Football Federation Australia's (FFA) independent Match Review Panel upheld an Obvious Error (Red Card) Application by Dodd and the club, meaning the attacking midfielder is available to take on the Fury while the red card has been rescinded from his record.
