Seongnam Ilhwa’s Sasa Ognenovski is delighted that his former club, Adelaide United, have shored things up off the pitch.
The Reds were purchased by a respected group of local businessmen yesterday, after being run by Football Federation Australia, and the ex-Reds defender was pleased things turned out well for everybody involved.
“I am very happy because it is a great club, a proud and passionate club,” said Ognenovski. “For them to get this boost, good owners…is very good for the players and the club itself.”
The 31-year old had some good news of his own today with his first-ever call-up for the Australian national team coming from coach Holger Osieck as he prepares for this weekend’s Asian Champions League final with his Korean club who take on Iran’s Zob Ahan in Tokyo.
