Adelaide United striker Sergio van Dijk is in danger of missing Friday's massive clash with Melbourne Victory at Adelaide Oval.
The A-League's leading scorer this season with 16, missed Adelaide's training session today because of a corked thigh sustained at the training yesterday.
Despite his absence just a day out from the match, Reds coach Rini Coolen felt the Dutchman would be right to take his place in the starting line-up.
"We decided to allow Serginho a rest, we didn't want to risk him on the hard surface at Adelaide but I'm sure he will be good for the game,'' Coolen said.
Adelaide will be desperate to beat their arch rivals so they can retain third spot an set up a home final against sixth-placed Wellington Phoenix next week.
