Adelaide United close to regaining skipper Dodd

A-League leaders Adelaide United are close to regaining the services of captain Travis Dodd.

The Reds have been without the attacking midfielder for all seven games of the season but have managed to remain undefeated as they sit pretty at the top of the heap.

But they are set for a major boost in the next few weeks when Dodd returns from the injury that he sidelined him for the two months of the season.

"This is the first week he's available in our squad," said Reds coach Rini Coolen. "He trained with us, it's the first week, he can't play tomorrow in the youth team of course but the next game, I think is in two weeks, if everything goes well he can join that team."

Adelaide will be trying to go more than a game clear on top of the table when they take on third-placed Perth Glory at Hindmarsh Stadium tonight.
