Adelaide's Dodd: I'd prefer it if we had won before break

Adelaide United captain Travis Dodd would have much preferred it if his side had won their last match before this weekend's international break. The A-League will break this week for FIFA-scheduled matches, where the Australian national team will face Oman in an Asian Cup qualifier in Muscat on Saturday, but Dodd would love to be playing in the domestic league to try and atone for Friday night's disappointing 2-0 home loss to the Brisbane Roar.

"We go into the break with a loss and it would have been a lot better with a win," he said.

"I think the way we've played the last couple of weeks has been positive. Our attitude at training has been a lot better and although we're not scoring goals, the way we're playing is a lot more positive."

When the A-League returns, the Reds face Gold Coast United at home on Friday November 20 and Dodd says to win that match will be important although not crucial.

"If we grab a win it puts into fourth spot," he said. "With 13 games to go we can't panic about it yet too much."
