Adelaide United have ended the three match winning streak of the Wellington Phoenix with a thumping 6-1 victory tonight at Hindmarsh Stadium. Adelaide were leading 2-0 at the interval after goals from Ognenovski and Cristiano, but the game became a contest in the 56th minute when Wellington's guest player Fred was on the spot to poke the ball over the line after a freekick.

However that was just the spark for an Adelaide goal avalanche, with Cristiano and Dodd goals sandwiching a brace from Cassio.
