Adebayor tells Arsenal pal Lehmann to stop moaning

Manu Adebayor has told Arsenal teammate Jens Lehmann to stop moaning about being behind Manuel Almunia.

Adebayor, 23, said: "As a player, I think I have to understand him as Lehmann is already 38. How many more years does he have in the game? Maybe two or three years more so he is fighting for his place.

"He wants to play. But at the moment, Almunia is doing a good job and saving a lot of goals. He has been just absolutely fantastic. According to the manager, we cannot change Almunia at the moment so Jens should try to be more patient.

"We have played many games with Manuel between the posts and we are still unbeaten. He is playing very well so he cannot change.

"Anyway, I leave the boss to decide. I am not the boss, I am just a simple player. Like Lehmann, I also want to play. Lehmann wants to play because he is an international and sitting on the bench could harm his chances with the national team.

"But I think he just has to still continue fighting for his place because maybe one day he will get his place back.

"So he needs to calm down and just concentrate on working hard."
