Emmanuel Adebayor is confident he'll be a positive influence at Crystal Palace.
The 31-year-old moved to Selhurst Park on a free transfer and has signed a deal until the end of the season, which can be extended if he impresses.
"Everyone that knows Adebayor will know whether it's a hard moment or good moment, he's always laughing. Let me laugh, let me enjoy myself and hopefully I can bring that into the dressing room and the team will follow, and we will get where we want to get to," he said.
It's not just Palace fans that the 31-year-old has to impress. Adebayor has hero status in his native Togo and whatever team he plays for they support him.
He admits it was difficult for the nation to see their talisman not playing football but is looking forward to kick starting his career at Selhurst Park.
"It was hard for my fans not seeing me playing football, but I was playing every day in Africa so I don't think it's going to be hard. I'm just going to go out there, play my football and enjoy myself again.
"Don't get me wrong, I have a whole country on my back right now. 'Emmanuel you have to get out there, find a club and you have to play. We want to see you.
"When I'm playing, especially in Togo, it's a big deal. Whenever I'm playing video places, the theatre, the cinema, they are all full.
"It's a big pressure on me but I have to play for my country, I have to play for a club, I have to find a club, which is Crystal Palace today, and hopefully my country will start enjoying Sky Sports again, and will start enjoy Adebayor again on the football pitch."
