Adebayor fears being squeezed out of Man City

Emmanuel Adebayor fears he will be squeezed out of Manchester City.

The Togo striker has revealed that he held showdown talks with Roberto Mancini last week after being used as a sub in the opening-day draw at Tottenham and then seeing Mario Balotelli arrive in a £24million deal from Inter Milan.

Adebayor says that the meeting was positive and that he wants to stay at Eastlands - but admits his stance may change by the turn of the year.

He admitted to the Sunday Mirror: "Being on the bench for the first game of the season was tough.

"I was a little bit upset because I want to play football, even though I know we have a lot of talented players at the club and you have to fight for your place. So I had a chat with the manager and it was good.

"I am very happy to be part of this club, even though I know a lot of things have been said about me leaving.

"I'm not going anywhere. I love the challenge of making it at City and there is no pressure for me to leave.

"But managers can change. Today they love you and the next moment you might be moving.

"I am just focused on what is happening now. I don't want to look too far into the future. But who knows? By January, maybe the manager will tell me to leave or maybe I will ask to leave.

"That is football, but what I want to do at this moment is focus on playing for City and fight for my place in the team."
