Portsmouth boss Tony Adams is demanding a big performance from his players in their UEFA Cup dead rubber against Heerenveen.
Adams said: "It's not a dead game as far as I'm concerned. There is an opportunity for players to play for that new contract or a position in the team.
"After the performance against Newcastle, there are opportunities and it's down to the players to take them.
"I think it could be the perfect game for us because there is a chance to work on a few things. The squad is not that big so there will not be massive changes, but there will certainly be one or two.
"We will have to see if they will stake a claim.
"It's an opportunity for other players to come in and perhaps grab their chance.
"That will be good for the players who have not been given a chance, but we still have to respect the supporters who are going to turn up."
