Adams wants his Portsmouth to be passing team

Tony Adams says his Portsmouth will be a passing team.

"I want to be at a club that plays football," he told Sky Sports News. "I've got to sit and watch it.

"Going back to my time at Wycombe, if I've got to put a team out there I'm not exactly enjoying and isn't playing football, it hurts.

"I don't like it, I'd rather go and walk the dog. I want to see teams that can pass the football.

"As a player, I was lucky to be involved in great teams for many years, but my last six years under Arsene, when we actually got the ball down and played very offensively, were really enjoyable.

"We played free, we played open, and I enjoyed it."

Adams' first opportunity to wow the Fratton Park faithful will be against struggling Wigan today.

"I'm not going to copy him (Arsene)," he added. "I'm realistic enough to know that we're not the Arsenal yet.

"We need a balance, but I think the Portsmouth crowd demand a certain type of style."
