Portsmouth assistant boss Tony Adams admits Peter Crouch is hurt over his England omission.
"From what I saw at Liverpool, when he used to play at Liverpool and came on, he is a super player. And, for England, he has never let his country down so it was a sad day for Peter.
"It happens. I was left out of the 1990 World Cup and you have to come back if you have anything about you. Hopefully, Peter is a fighter.
"It's just a little bit of a setback for him at the moment but I think he can come again."
