Arsenal legend Tony Adams admits he was keen to return to the club as chairman.
He was surprised when the club's American owner appointed 73-year-old Chips Keswick as chairman last week.
Adams is convinced it should have been him after writing to the board offering to take a place in the famous boardroom.
The 46-year-old is so keen to serve the club where he lifted 10 major trophies, he insisted to The Sun: "Look, I would make the tea for Arsenal Football Club, but I thought I ticked all the right boxes for the board.
"I don't need the money, I would put the good of the club first in every case and I could mediate well within the club."
