Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam wants teammate Jonjo Shelvey to declare for Scotland.

Shelvey is on loan at Blackpool and has a Scottish grandad.

And Reds team-mate Adam has tipped off national boss Craig Levein who said: "We've been in touch and we are hopeful.

"As usual, we will continue to try and unearth as many players as possible who are eligible to play for Scotland.

"We want as many good players as possible to be able to play for us."
