Hull FC owner Adam Pearson is interested in buying Hull City.
The Hull Daily Mail says, however, he may find his path back to the club blocked by the current owners.
The former City chairman is privately keen on brokering a deal for the Tigers, a club he guided from Division Three to the Championship during his six years in charge, as well overseeing the move from Boothferry Park to the KC Stadium.
News of Pearson's interest in returning to City for a third spell was welcomed by supporters who, like manager Steve Bruce, are waiting to discover what will happen next with plans to sell the club.
