Adam hoping for extended Rangers run

Charlie Adam is hoping for an extended first team run after his Rangers recall for last weekend's Old Firm victory. Adam said: "It was good to get back in the side. I hadn't played for a couple of weeks but it's the manager who makes the decisions and that's the way it is.

"However, I came in on Sunday and played my part in the game and that's what you have to do.

"It was important for me to get a vote of confidence from the manager for the game with Celtic. I stick by the decisions that he makes.

"It was great to come in and show that I am capable of playing in that kind of match."

Adam was thrilled with the win which shot Rangers to the top of the table and signalled their intent for the rest of the season.

He said: "We are very happy with Sunday's win especially after losing on our last two visits to Parkhead at the end of last season, which was very disappointing.

"We have to be proud of what we did on Sunday it's a fantastic result.

"We knew it would be tough because Celtic are a good side so we are delighted with the three points.

"It was great to take the lead in the game through Daniel but it was deflating to concede one so soon afterwards.

"However, it shows the spirit that we have to come back so strongly after that, especially in a venue such as Celtic Park.

"I thought we deserved to take the lead.

"And Kenny Miller came up trumps for us to get us back in the lead after they equalised and we went on to win really well."
