Blackpool look like having to bow to the inevitable as in-demand midfielder Charlie Adam has handed in a transfer request. The Scotland international has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks following a magnificent season with the Premier League new boys.
His agent Kenny Moyes said: "I can confirm Charlie has handed in a transfer request."
The Seasiders have rejected bids from Liverpool, Villa and Birmingham for the former Rangers midfielder so far this month.
Tangerines boss Ian Holloway has been adamant Adam will see out his contract unless a ridiculous offer is received.
"If I was the Liverpool manager I would want to buy him because they have never replaced Xabi Alonso," said Holloway. "But you have to come up with the right amount of money. I don't want to stand in his way, but they have to put up or shut up."
Holloway revealed Oyston had taken a call from the Reds' director of football strategy Damian Comolli on Sunday night which merely left the picture even more confused.
So far the highest bid for Adam has been Liverpool's £4.5million offer and it remains to be seen if they will increase that to over £5million.
Adams has 18 months left on his contract at Bloomfield Road.
