Adam: Blackpool have nothing to fear

Charlie Adam insists there's nothing for Blackpool to fear in next season's Premiership.

Adam can't wait to test himself among the big boys and he claims he and his team-mates are determined to prove they can hold their own.

"It doesn't matter who we are up against in the Premier League next season. Whether it's Wigan or Manchester United they are all established teams, apart from the three that went up," the skipper told the Blackpool Gazette.

"This is probably the best league in the world and for us to be going there is great. Every fixture will be a dream for us because at the start of last season none of us expected to be in the Premier League.

"But we're not in it just to make the numbers up.

"We want to show that everyone in our dressing room is capable of playing at the top level. We've got to be prepared mentally and physically because it is going to be tough. We will be up against some of the best players around.

"But we are looking forward to it and for us the hard work started yesterday when we reported back."
